Goliad is at the crossroads of Highway 183 and 59 on the Texas Coastal Plain. A small town surrounded by ranches and Texas History, Goliad maintains it’s impressive courthouse square as a center for gatherings and “Market Days”. The second Saturday of each month from March through December features vendors on the square with wares from homemade soaps to tropical plants and “gorditas”.

Shops around the square feature antiques, clothing, jewelry and canned relishes and sauces. The Market House Museum and library are also conveniently located on the square as well as restaurants featuring homemade breads, soups and pies. Locals and heritage tourists gather under the oaks to enjoy the view of the newly restored courthouse cupolas.

Minutes from the Aransas Wildlife Refuge, the beaches in Rockport and Port Aransas, Goliad is also a convenient home-base for antiquing excursions to Cuero, Yorktown and other small towns. The Coleto Creek Reservior, the Presdio LaBahia and mission Espiritu Santo de Zuniga are all within minutes of downtown. Laredo is an easy day trip for shopping and dining on the Mexican border. It’s all in a Goliad Get Away.
